Course

Science 200

Science 300

Placement

Dependent upon placement              into Math 200

Discuss with Science 200 Instructor           and VUB Director.

Curriculum

Laboratory

Science 200  is held 2 hours per week.

Science 300  is Optional.

Understand concepts of physics, chemistry, biology and earth science. Instruction is supplemented by hands-on experience, and with extensive hardware and video resources of a university laboratory.

A related 300-word composition will be due at the end of the term.

This independent study program will follow a quantitative investigation of mechanics. It will start with a mathematical treatment of accelerated motion and move on to momentum and energy conservation. There will be a much stronger emphasis on problem solving than in the Science 200 course.

Course Goal

Understand the value of science in theory, vocabulary, methods and practical application for real life use.

To have a solid understanding of physics as the start for interdisciplinary technologies and to expand math skills.
