When the ARCH reopens in January 2014, the area that used to be the CREST room will be occupied by Chef Rick Bayless's first East Coast outpost of Tortas Frontera. The Daily Pennsylvanian reported on it first, but the news was very quickly picked up by national news organizations and food news sites alike:
If you want a sneak peek at what you can expect, check out the menu from the O'Hare airport location. Chef Bayless will be working with Bon Appétit to source as many local ingredients as possible. We're hungry already!
The goals of the project include preserving Arts, Research, and Culture as the foundation of the buildings program and to create new and better space for the centers housed in the ARCH and creating new social and programming space that will bring even more students into the building.
The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2014.
