  • U.S. Job Search for International Students: Immigration Issues Made Easy - Presentation will cover topics such as OPT, H1B timing and costs, how to deal with employers who don't understand the immigration process, how to answer questions about the cost of the immigration process, and alternatives to the H1B for students who are not chosen in the H1B lottery. Two attorneys from the law firm of McCandlish Holton will present:

    • Helen Konrad, Director in the Immigration Practice Group. She concentrates her practice on employment-based and professional immigration, with emphasis on: Permanent Green Cards, H-1B Visas for high-tech and professional personnel, J-Waivers, Visa issues for physicians, National Interest Waivers
    • Mark Rhoads, Director in the Immigration Practice Group. His focus is on temporary visas and permanent resident green cards for university researchers and professors; high-tech and information technology personnel; international managers and executives; and professional personnel in accounting, engineering, advertising and many other professions.

  • Central Intelligence Agency Information Session - Agency representatives will cover a broad range of topics to include the Agency mission, potential career opportunities, the on-line application process, and a question and answer period. Students are encouraged to bring a resume.

  • 2nd Annual Student Career & Internship Opportunities in Japan - Are you interested in an internship and/or a job in Japan?  Join us for a panel discussion where we learn from our fellow students who had these experiences.  The talk will include the topics such as job hunting, work, use of Japanese language at job interview and work, cross-cultural issues, challenges and achievements.  You can ask more questions in the following Q &A sessions. 
    The panel is conducted in English. This event is sponsored by the Japanese Language Program and the Center of East Asian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Anyone interested is welcome!

For Organizations

About the Event

  • The International Opportunities Fair will provide the opportunity to speak informally with highly qualified students interested in learning about your organization and collect resumes from interested students. The fair will be attended primarily by Wharton and College of Arts and Sciences undergraduates, as well as a variety of non-MBA graduate students. Students and graduates in attendance will be interested in a broad range of international opportunities.

Cost

  • The registration fee is $150, which includes one table and lunch for up to two representatives. There will be a fee of $20 for each additional representative, payable only by check.

Parking

  • As with most college campuses, especially campuses in urban settings, parking is a challenge. With that in mind, we have arranged for a nearby parking garage to reserve spots for organization representatives who are attending this fair.

    If you will be driving to the Career Fair,
    please email the name of the driver to Shannon Kelly at shakelly@upenn.edu no later than Monday, October 20th, 2008. If you will be parking in this lot, you will be required to pay the $13 parking fee upon arrival to the lot (cash only). The reserved parking is in Lot #5 ­ Palestra, east side of 33rd street between Spruce and Walnut Streets of the location, please click here for a map to the lot.

  • If you will be shipping materials in advance, please arrange for packages to arrive on 10/22 or 10/23, as the facility has extremely limited storage space. Please mark your ORGANIZATION’s NAME CLEARLY on the packages, and send them to:
