Get Connected with Professional Associations
Getting involved with professional associations in your area of interest is a great way to:
- become informed about resources in a particular career field
- search job posting boards (many professional associations have their own, well-developed job posting boards online)
- get connected with people in the profession
- understand current issues in your career
There are a few different ways to find which professional associations are affiliated with your area of interest/career field:
- Visit the Occupational Outlook Handbook, search for a specific job title, then scroll all the way to the bottom or click on SOURCES OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Check the Google Directory of Professional Associations
- Check the Yahoo Directory of Professional/Business Associations
