Information for Employers interested in School of Design students
Penn Career Services offers you four ways to connect to students in the School of Design.
Career Connection Day: Architecture & Landscape Architecture | Planning & Preservation
Our annual, one-day spring career fair is open to all graduate students at the School of Design. The fair is an excellent way to connect with students, make your work known and recruit for available full- and part-time positions, as well as summer opportunities. It is held in Meyerson Hall, at the corner of 34th Street and Walnut, every spring. Employers stand at tables and present information on their organization to students and recent graduates. Students can ask questions, discuss their interests and provide their resumes. The fair attracts employers from various design and planning fields, and over 300 students participated last year. Click here to see a list of employers who attended last year’s fair.
Virtual Internship Fair
This year we're tailoring our on-line career fair to address the needs of architecture and landscape architecture employers who hire summer interns in advance of Career Connection Day in March. The PennDesign Virtual Internship Fair will take place for two weeks in February.By registering and posting positions on-line before the start of the fair, you'll be able to advertise internships and solicit applications on-line. This process is automated through PennLink, Career Services' job database and event administration system. Regardless of whether you attend PennDesign Career Connection Day, you can participate in the virtual fair. Check back here for more information as February approaches.
Resume Books
Career Services provides employers with digital resume books collected from PennDesign students. Each year employers use these books to reach out to students they are interested in meeting (often at the annual career fair).
We create online, downloadable resume books for each degree-granting program of the School of Design (Architecture, City Planning, Fine Arts, Historic Preservation and Landscape Architecture) and divide resumes into those of students seeking full-time positions and those seeking summer employment. Students may also include design sheets when appropriate. The Resume Books are automated through PennLink, Career Services' job posting / resume collecting board.

E-Mail Distribution List
Career Services maintains a listserv of current graduate Design students who choose to receive our career-related e-mails, and another of alumni with at least 5 years of post-graduation experience. Many employers forward individual job and internship announcements to us for distribution. Please send notices to Rosanne Lurie (rlurie@upenn.edu).
School of Design Employer and Alumni Database
Career Services maintains a database of all design employers who have had job-related contact with our office or the School of Design, and many others who have hired Penn alumni. Students can search this database from our website and use it to research employers and to network. Please contact Rosanne Lurie (rlurie@upenn.edu) if your organization would like to be included.
PennLink
List your job on PennLink where it will be searchable to all university users. Your organization can post full-time, part-time and summer position announcements. In addition to forwarding e-mail announcements to us, posting on PennLink is a great way to inform students and alumni about your current openings.
Through PennLink, your organization will be able to sign-up to attend the PennDesign Career Connection Day, participate in the Virtual Career Fair and view our resume books as well as list jobs.
