Career inventories and tests are not magic. They can aid your self-assessment process by highlighting your personality style or interests related to work and help you think about how your values or interests might match some specific career fields. However, you should talk with a career counselor at Career Services for a more personal and comprehensive evaluation of your career options and plans.
- Myers Briggs Type Indicator - The Myers Briggs Type Indicator is now available through Career Services for alumni only for a small fee, click here for details. .
- Strong Interest Inventory - The Strong Interest Inventory is now available through Career Services for alumni only for $25.00. This inventory is designed to assess interests and preferred work styles and relate them to a variety of career fields and occupations.
Current Penn students have the option of formal career testing, such as the Myers Briggs (personality) and Strong Interest Inventory (Interests), through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). For more information about the services at CAPS or to schedule an appointment for career testing, call 215-898-7021. After completing career testing at CAPS you may want to bring your results to Career Services to discuss further your career options.
SIGI 3
- SIGI 3 - SIGI 3® software integrates self-assessment with in-depth and up-to-date career information, and provides a realistic view of educational and career options. Access to SIGI 3 has been generously underwritten by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. You will need a PennKey to obtain the passcode online, if you do not have a PennKey please contact a staff member.
