Things to Consider Before Accepting an Offer of Admission
If you have not already done so, visit the school to sit in on classes and take the opportunity to get to know faculty and students in the department. The program may be able to help you meet with a Penn alum while you visit, which can be helpful and informative. Some points to consider are:
- Do most students seem glad to be there? Why or why not?
- Do you have a firm sense of the faculty with whom you will work?
- What have been the career paths of people who have completed the program? What support is available to you as you plan your career?
- What is your financial aid offer? If you receive funding for the first year, what are the prospects for funding in future years?
