What is the Biomedical Career Fair?

• The University of Pennsylvania 's Biomedical Career Fair is jointly sponsored by Career Services, Biomedical Postdoctoral Programs, and Biomedical Graduate Studies.
• Currently there are almost 500 students working toward their Ph.D.s. (Click here to learn more about their programs.)
• More than 800 postdoctoral appointees conduct research in Penn laboratories. (Click here to see research areas.)
• The Fair is an opportunity for employers to talk with potential hires about opportunities in their organizations and to gain a first-hand impression of individual postdocs and students.

Where and when is the 2008 Career Fair?

• Wednesday, September 24th, 1:00-4:00 p.m. (Please join us for lunch starting at noon)
• Biomedical Research Building II, 421 Curie Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA

What is the format?

• In the atrium, each registered employer will have a six-foot table for handouts, information and displays as well as a sign identifying the organization. Postdocs and Ph.D. students will speak to employers at the tables.
• Employers are also invited to give ten-minute talks about their organization in the auditorium which is adjacent to the atrium.

Can I ship materials ahead of time?

• You may ship materials ahead of time directly to the Biomedical Research Building.  They will accept packages starting one week before the event and place them at your table when you arrive.   You can ship your materials to:

Is there a registration fee and a registration deadline?

• The registration fee of $200 ($100 for start-ups and foundations) provides a table and space for three representatives (there is a fee of $25 for each additional representative), lunch for all representatives and free parking for ONE car.
• Please register by Friday, September 19, 2008.

How do employers register?

• Credit card payments can be processed on-line instantly. Employers who wish to pay by check, should mail in a check as soon as possible or bring payment on the day of the fair.
