By Mary Morris Heiberger and Julia Miller Vick

The Third Edition of the Academic Job Search Handbook is available in the Career Services Library and may be purchased by current Penn doctoral students in the Career Services office for the discounted price of $5.00. Others may purchase it through Amazon or other booksellers at the regular retail price.

Written by our own Career Services professionals, Mary Heiberger and Julia Vick, the chapters are entitled "What You Should Know Before You Start," "Planning and Timing Your Search," "Written Materials for the Search: Suggestions and Samples," "Conducting the Search," "After You take the Job," and "Thinking About the Expanded Job Market," plus two helpful appendices. The authors of the book are also the career columnists for the "Chronicle of Higher Education."
