Meet Meng Yang

Your major and date of graduation:
Computer Science, 2007

What are you doing after graduation?
I’m taking a job offer from Electronic Arts (EA) the largest video game company in the world, as a full-time software engineering. The job is based in L.A.

What is the one piece of advice you have for underclassmen about deciding on a career or job?
Choosing a career that truly motivates you is my advice for underclassmen.

Did you have an internship with the organization that you will be working for full-time?
Yes.

What career paths have you been considering?
Start-ups or grad school

What influenced your decision for your post graduation plans?
I’ve been considering grad school until I had an internship with EA. The experience was so great that I decided to join them full time.

What do you think made you most marketable as a candidate for the position for which you were hired?
I know my field decently well and am very motivated for what I’m doing.

When did you start looking?
Spring 2006

How long did it take to find a job?
2-6 months

How did you develop your interviewing skills?
From numerous interviews
