Lauren Hansen-Flaschen, a former Penn staff
member and student, and Jean Lee, a Penn alum, will show and discuss
documentaries they made while investigating issues of poverty as they
uniquely apply to women. Jean Lee’s documentary explores poverty in
the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. Lauren Hansen-Flaschen
filmed her documentary in a rural community in Bangladesh, and through
her work, she follows the progress of a community cooperative that
seeks to empower women toward self-sufficiency. Please RSVP here.
