Admission

Applicants to the undergraduate schools of the University of
Pennsylvania do not apply directly to the Civic Scholars Program. The Undergraduate Admissions Office of the University in consultation with the staff of the program distinguishes admitted students whose applications indicate potential interest, commitment and academic qualifications for the program.

These students will be informed of their selection by letter and asked whether they would like to be considered for admission. A short application statement to the Civic Scholars Program is then required. The Civic Scholars Program is envisioned as a unique four-year experience and entrance to the program will be at the beginning of the freshman year. As the program evolves, admission may be opened to students already enrolled at Penn but probably no later than the beginning of their sophomore years.
