Admission

The Civic Scholars Program is envisioned as a unique four-year experience and entrance to the program occurs at the beginning of the freshman year.

Applicants to the undergraduate schools of the University of Pennsylvania do not apply directly to the Civic Scholars Program. The Undergraduate Admissions Office of the University, in consultation with the staff of the program, distinguishes admitted students whose applications indicate potential interest, commitment and academic qualifications for the program. Along with their successful admission to Penn, these students receive a letter informing them that they have been identified as a potential Civic Scholar with an invitation to apply to the program. Upon submission and review of their application, final candidates are then required to interview with the program directors for the last step in the selection process.

If you have questions about admission to the Civic Scholars Program, please contact the program’s directors at 215-898-4831.
