Philadelphia Education Fund is an independent nonprofit organization that has been working to improve the educational achievement of underserved youth in the Philadelphia region for the past two decades.
Good Schools Pennsylvania is a statewide non-profit organization working with a coalition of education, religious and civic associations to mobilize parents, students and concerned citizens for comprehensive public education reform. (215) 332-2700
Education Law Center a non-profit legal advocacy and educational organization, dedicated to ensuring that all of Pennsylvania's children have access to a quality public education. (215) 238-6970
Upward Bound The University of Pennsylvania High School Upward Bound Program is a college preparatory program designed to motivate and prepare students in the program for the successful pursuit of a four-year college education. The goal of the program is to increase the rate at which low-income, first-generation-to-college students enroll in and graduate from a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Education Trust The Education Trust works for the high academic achievement of all students at all levels, pre-kindergarten through college, and forever closing the achievement gaps that separate low-income students and students of color from other youth. Our basic tenet is this — All children will learn at high levels when they are taught to high levels.

ASAP ‘s mission is to keep Philadelphia’s youth safe and active by facilitating supervised enrichment activities in the dangerous after school hours.
Boys and Girls Club USA

First Book – The mission of this national group is to give children from low-income families their first new-book to read and own. First Book partners with various student groups for their annual book drives.
Penn Chess Tutoring Club is a community service group working in collaboration with Project H.O.M.E. and with the support of Civic House, CHAC, and SAC in order to provide children in North Philadelphia with a mentoring and chess tutoring program.
PennPals pairs undergraduates with elementary school students from Drew School to serve as role models.
Pennvelopes is a pen pal program in which Penn students write letters to a student in a local school with the goal of improving the reading and writing skills of the elementary school students.
WEPIC The West Philadelphia Improvement Corps is an academically-based school and community revitalization program founded in 1985. WEPIC's goal is to produce comprehensive, university-assisted community schools that serve, educate, and activate all members of the community and to revitalize the curriculum through a community-oriented, real-world problem solving approach.
West Philadelphia Tutoring Project (WPTP) is a group of over 350 students who are paired with West Philadelphia students in one-on-one tutoring relationships. The WPTP seeks to build academic success as well as self confidence for area students. Trainings for new tutors are held at the beginning of each semester for those interested.
Write On! Write On! brings eighth graders from the Penn Alexander School to the Kelly Writers House on Saturday afternoons to work with Penn undergraduate volunteers on creative writing skills and activities.
CommuniTech is a student-run group that provides technical services to non-profit organization in the Philadelphia area.
