Elizabeth brings to Civic House a wealth of experience in working with volunteers and Philadelphia Schools. Before coming to Penn she worked with City Year Greater Philadelphia, managing relationships with 25 City Year community partners, most of whom were city elementary, middle and high schools. Elizabeth has also directly supervised City Year corps members, and planned and implemented a range of training programs to better prepare and support volunteers in their work in local schools. And she has been an active volunteer herself, including spending a year after earning her undergraduate degree as a full-time AmeriCorps volunteer with the National Civilian Community Corps.
Elizabeth earned her Master of Social Work degree from SUNY Albany, where she interned with diverse agencies and was the graduate assistant in their Community and Public Service Program. She earned a BA degree in Geography from James Madison University, from which she also studied abroad in Salmanca, Spain.
Elizabeth is responsible for a variety of Civic House programs, including Public Interest Career programming and student education and training. In addition, she assists the Director of Civic House on larger managerial and administrative Civic House initiatives.
