| Description |
The Penn West Philly Basketball League, composed of area college students and community members has been formed to create a basketball league for the children of the West Philly community. We seek to create a safe environment for children to come learn and play basketball in a structured manner. The children aged 10-13 will be prepared for high school, not only in terms of basketball development, but also in terms of school life and challenges. We will do this by providing the children with mentors who develop a personal relationship with each child through basketball instruction. By successfully administering this program we also serve to bridge the gap between the West Philly community and the University of Pennsylvania. We encourage the ever increasing involvement with existing community organizations and individuals all working together to help the children of our community. |
