Leadership & Skill Building Trainings > Overview

As Penn's center for student-led community service and advocacy work, Civic House helps students to identify and prepare for a range of community involvement activities. For some students, working in communities without a means to understand or act on complex social issues can build barriers and lead to frustration. To reach our potential as students and agents of change and to engage responsibly in communities, we must be thoughtful and purposeful in our relationships and in our work.

The Civic House Leadership and Skill Building Trainings are a collection of workshops, discussions, and online resources developed to encourage students to address the fundamental issues raised by community work and to teach skills that are essential to community engagement.  All members of the Penn community who are interested in service or advocacy are strongly encouraged to take advantage of these resources.
