WPTP offers an On-Campus Program to accommodate both tutors and tutees who are unable to work together throughout the school day. On-Campus tutoring takes place after school between 4:30-7:30pm Sunday-Thursday at Civic House, located at 3914 Locust Walk. At the start of each school-year, WPTP matches tutors with tutees for a FULL YEAR of tutoring at Civic House (note the On-Campus commitment is one full academic year). The pair meets weekly for one to two hours per week to work on long-term projects, homework, SATs, and other academic areas. There are currently 75 pairs of tutors and tutees.
The On-Campus Program is unique in that Penn tutors are able to interact directly with their tutees' families. On-Campus tutors coordinate with the parents or guardians of their tutees every week to confirm tutoring sessions, offering tutors the opportunity to form a deeper relationship with their tutees and tailor tutoring sessions specifically to their needs. In addition, tutors are able to give their tutees a glimpse of their own academic experience here at Penn. The On-Campus Program is a great option for Penn tutors who manage a busy schedule during the day and can make a year-long commitment at the start of the academic year.

The On-Campus Program is extremely limited in space and therefore On-Campus tutors are expected to be available to tutor at Civic House every week as well as their tutees, who are also being held accountable. In the event that a tutor cannot attend his/her On-Campus tutoring session, he/she MUST either reschedule the time slot with his/her tutee's parents and discuss the switch with his/her Executive Board Member. On-Campus attendance is closely monitored and tutors who fail to attend will removed from the program.
Each WPTP tutor must attend one workshop throughout the semester. There will be four WPTP-organized events offered, two of which will be skilled-oriented, and two of which will be policy-oriented. Additionally, tutors can attend specific events on Penn's campus that have been previously identified by WPTP. A complete list of these events can be found in the "Home" tab of the WPTP website and the WPTP weekly emails. Please note that all tutors that attend non-WPTP events must arrive at least five minutes early to sign in with a WPTP Executive Board Member. The Executive Board Member will be easily identifiable in a navy WPTP T-Shirt.
In order to coordinate the schedules of parents, students, and Penn tutors, tutors must remain in constant communication with both their tutees' parents or guardians, and their Executive Board Members. It is ESSENTIAL that tutors speak with their tutees or their guardians EVERY WEEK to confirm that the tutee will be attending tutoring at Civic House at the slotted time. Tutors cannot assume that tutees or parents/guardians will remember to account for WPTP in planning each week; confirmation is necessary. Additionally, tutors must remain in contact with their Executive Board Member who will be at Civic House each week when they tutor. Tutors are expected to inform their Executive Board Members of any cancellations with an explanation for the cancellation and any complications in tutoring both relating to program management and tutee behavior.
