Collegiate Leadership Development Program and
Latino Ivy League Conference

In an effort to promote constructive dialogue and interaction between students and key university officials, La Casa Latina and the Latino Coalition, in collaboration with the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI), established the Collegiate Leadership Development Program in the fall of 2002.

The principle objective is to begin cultivating the next generation of leaders through greater activism on campus and in the Penn community.

The CLDP program provides hands-on leadership training and skills for students to utilize in their professional careers or as leaders in a student organization. Participants attended a leadership conference (USHLI) and presented information to their Latino/Hispanic student groups.

Through the Collegiate Leadership Development Program, students gain a better understanding about how the university's organizational structure functions and how they as students can play a more effective role in influencing or formulating university policy such as affirmative action, recruitment and retention of students, faculty, staff, support services, and other such activities. All students are welcome to participate in the program.
