Spanning a variety of social, political, economic, and cultural topics concerning the Latino diaspora, the Latino Dialogue Series is designed to educate students through a dual educational approach of pedagogy combined with continuous dialogical process. This program invited speakers (e.g. professors, authors, political activists) to teach as well as facilitate discourse. Ultimately, this program would like to bring together students from all corners of the university to thoughtfully and analytically learn and discuss the politics of the US Latino population through a historic and sociological lens. Students would gain a better understanding of (a) the diversity of the Latino population (b) the tumultuous histories and present inequities which afflict the national Latino population and (c) the need for cohesive community building with other non Latino populations. As a result, students will focus on creating a more unified and diverse community at Penn and beyond.
