The framework of the program is built on the following major activities: 1. An orientation program to build peer/faculty relationships for the entering freshman 2. A parallel mentoring team of staff, faculty, and peers 3. A collaboration component to create a bridge to Penn's alumni community 4. To provide a Professional leadership series Professional Pathways program is aimed to help students to build some positive peer relationships and find potential mentors. Participationg students are matched with a faculty or alumni member who commits to offering support and advice to their mentee throughout the academic year. Several faculty and alumni members are also affiliated with career interest groups, such as Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers or the Hispanic Bar Association, through which students may also build supportive relationships and find networking opportunities. The comprehensive nature of the learning opportunities provided by the Professional Pathways Program insures that there are many ways for students to participate. The program builds on offering extraordinary opportunities for building connections to the positive role models that can help future Penn students create a clearer path to success. This program is open to all students, alumni, and faculty. |
