Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Library/Archives of Philadelphia Philadelphia 's most extensive collection of rare books, periodicals, video and audio tapes, periodicals, personal correspondence, and other ephemera documenting the rich history of our LGBT community. The Archives has an ongoing exhibit in the lobby that changes periodically. For more info about the archives please contact the Center or visit during drop-in hours on Wednesday evenings between 6pm and 8pm. Giovanni's Room With more than 25,000 titles on the shelves and a data base of more than 36,000 titles in our specialties, Giovanni's Room stocks thousands more lesbian, gay, transgender, and bisexual books, films, and CDs than the biggest superstore. We also have the lowest prices on LGBT magazines, greeting cards, jewelry, and more. Our store hours are: Monday - Saturday from 11:30-7 p.m.& Sunday from 1-7 p.m. House of Our Own Our shop is located on two floors of a quiet, comfortable Victorian house on the edge of the University of Pennsylvania campus. The large stock of general and scholarly books is divided between new and used, and is well-organized and categorized. Gay studies and feminist sections. Penn Bookstore The Penn Bookstore is located on the Penns campus and maintains a collection of approximately 200 selections. Titles not found in the store can be ordered, usually at no additional charge. Barnes and Noble Membership cards are accepted for an additional 10% off on all titles. It features a multi-media event space on its second floor authors are welcome! Such events are free and open to the public. Materials range in subject matter from LGBT studies to fiction. All members of the Penn community are welcome to borrow library materials. Staff is available to speak with students and faculty conducting research or writing about LGBT people. The AIDS Library The AIDS Library serves the community through delivery of information on HIV, such as treatments, nutrition, and history of the pandemic, and referrals to regional and national resources. This information is provided through a variety of media including books, periodicals, medical journals, videos, audio cassettes, cd-rom, and the Internet. All materials may be viewed in the comfort of the library and most books and videos may be loaned to those with a free AIDS Library borrower card.
