ActionAIDS ActionAIDS is a Philadelphia-based organization in partnership with people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and works to sustain and enhance quality of life. We provide a range of direct services and take an active and professional approach to leadership in service, education and advocacy. Adolescent Drop In Medical Services at Mazzoni The Mazzoni Center has offered quality health care and social services to the LGBTQ community for the past 30 years. The Mazzoni Health Center, located at 809 Locust St, is pleased to announce the opening of Adolescent Medical Drop In Hours every Weds. evening beginning Sept 16th from 5:00-7:00pm. Individuals ages 14-24 years old will have free access to medical care and social services on a first come, first served basis. You do NOT need health insurance to be seen during this time. In addition to medical care, clients will have access to social workers, tokens, food, hygiene kits and various referrals to both internal and external services, such as therapy, drug & alcohol treatment, HIV risk reduction & counseling, health education and education/vocation services. AIDS Activities Coordinating Office (AACO) A component of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health aimed at stopping the spread of AIDS through the development of coordinated responses by public and private sector organizations. Case management are available. AIDS Coalition of Southern New Jersey ACSNJ is an HIV/AIDS direct service agency whose vision is to increase the well-being of people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS, to reduce the rate of HIV infection, to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate and effective services and to identify and assess new and changing service needs. The group primarily serves the four-county area of Camden, Burlington, Gloucester and Salem Counties. Support programs, nutrition and housing services, children's programs, buddy services, and case management are available. AIDS Services in Asian Communities (ASIAC) AIDS Services In Asian Communities (ASIAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing culturally sensitive and language appropriate HIV-related services to Asians and Pacific Islanders and their partners, friends, family members, and service providers in the Philadelphia area. Blacks Educating Blacks About Sexual Health Issues (BEBASHI) BEBASHI was founded in 1985 in response to the increasing incidence of HIV/AIDS in the African American community of Philadelphia. We are a full-service HIV/AIDS case management agency with a special interest in serving low-income people of color with HIV disease. Our mission is to provide culturally sensitive health related information, direct service, research, and technical assistance to the urban community. GALAEI (Gay and Lesbian Latino AIDS Education Initiative) GALAEI is a non profit organization devoted to creating an awareness of the issues that affect Philadelphia's Latino LGBT communities. GALAEI focuses on improving the quality of life for all Latinos and LGBT people, especially in the area of HIV/AIDS and other health related issues, and seeks to demand accountability from all systems that serve them through education, representation and advocacy. HIV Testing: Student Health Service Confidential HIV Testing will soon be available at Student Health Service. MANNA A small professional staff and 1,000 dedicated volunteers bring over 40,000 nutritious, home-cooked, home-delivered meals each month to individuals and families at nutritional risk due to life-threatening illnesses. Five days a week, MANNA chefs and volunteers work together to prepare, package and deliver almost 2,000 medically appropriate meals each day to individuals and families living with a life-threatening illness such as cancer, diabetes or HIV/AIDS – in total, almost 40,000 meals a month. Mazzoni Center Mazzoni Center provides provides competent, compassionate and nonjudgmental primary medical care, mental health counseling and a full range of HIV/AIDS testing & social services to the region’s historically underserved sexual minority and HIV-affected communities. Services include comprehensive primary medical services, HIV+ Services, case management, mental health counseling and support groups. National Coalition for LGBT Health The Coalition is committed to improving the health and well being of LGBT individuals through federal advocacy that is focused on research, policy, education and training. National Leather Association-International Domestic Violence Project The vision of the NLA-I Domestic Violence Project is to create a national and international network to provide information, appropriate referrals, resources and safe shelters for those in the world community who have been subjected to abusive and violent BDSM relationships and who are seeking a way out of those relationships or who require a more extensive support network than is otherwise available to them. Office of Health Education The Office of Health Education supports Penn's academic endeavors by promoting a healthy and safe campus environment for students, faculty and staff. Health promotion services include data collection and analysis, educational workshops, health awareness events, trainings and consultations. In addition, OHE offers a lending library with literature, books and videos, HIV test site information, as well as a new comprehensive website with information pertinent to Penn student's and their health. Confidential consultations and referrals to on-and off- campus resources and safer sex supplies are also available. OHE also provides free and confidential HIV testing to the Penn community and sponsors the massage program. Philadelphia FIGHT Philadelphia FIGHT is a comprehensive AIDS Service Organization providing state of the art, culturally competent HIV primary care, consumer education, advocacy, social services, outreach to people living with HIV and to those who are at high risk, and access to the most advanced clinical research. Our goal and hope is to end the AIDS epidemic within the lifetime of those currently living with HIV. Philadelphia Freedom Roundup The primary purpose of the Philadelphia Freedom Roundup is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous, with a special mission to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered recovering alcoholics. We seek to educate men and women on how to improve their spiritual, mental, social and physical quality of life by using the Twelve Steps as a guide. Planned Parenthood Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA®) is the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider. PPFA also works with partner organizations worldwide to improve the sexual health and well-being of individuals and families everywhere. Provides a number of services, including pregnancy support, testing for HIV and other STDs, and breast exams. Prevention Point Prevention Point Philadelphia works to provide safe and human alternatives to the war on drugs. We began in 1991 as a grassroots, volunteer organization conducting syringe exchange when it was still an illegal activity. We have grown into a recognized, multi-service public health organization that continues our commitment to a community-based model that seeks to minimize the adverse consequences of injection drug use and sex work, such as HIV or Hepatitis C infection. Rainbow Circle of the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation Since barriers to health care can prevent members of lesbian/bisexual/transgender (LBT) communities from accessing the care they need, the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation has created an outreach program directed to this group of women. Rainbow Circle provides inclusive education, information and services to persons in the LGBT community to encourage and provide access to optimum breast health care. The SafeGuards Project & LGBT Health Resource Center The mission of The SafeGuards Project & LGBT Health Resource Center is to enhance the health of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and communities. We seek to advance the knowledge of health issues affecting these communities and to develop public health programs that promote healthy change on an individual, group, and institutional level. We accomplish these goals through community-based participatory research, collaborative programs and advocacy. Trans-health Information Project (TIP) What is TIP? The Trans-health Information Project (TIP) is a comprehensive HIV prevention and health education project designed by and for transgendered, transsexual and gender-variant people in Philadelphia. TIP puts accurate information about safer sex and safer injection techniques into the hands of trans people in order to encourage less risky behaviors and to foster advocacy on our own behalf regarding our healthcare needs. Transgender Health Action Coalition (T-HAC)* Philadelphia's peer-based transhealth advocacy organization. Open meetings on the last Friday of the month at 7PM. Runs a staffed hotline Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 6-9PM and Sunday from 3-6PM. Women's Therapy Center The Women’s Therapy Center is a private, non-profit psychotherapy center providing therapeutic services to adult women. Our goal is to empower women to live their best, healthiest and most powerful lives. We provide services from a feminist perspective, ensuring that women find the therapist and services that best meet their needs. |
