AIDS Hotline Pennsylvania AIDS hotlines are invaluable for basic HIV/AIDS information. You can talk to someone knowledgeable about HIV, and get referrals to various AIDS services in your city or state. Bilingual Domestic Violence Project Hotline The Bilingual Domestic Violence Project has two 24-hour hotlines (one in English, one in Spanish) that provide referrals for shelter and housing, emergency food services, legal assistance, youth services, elder programs, medical services, general counseling needs, sexual assault counseling, welfare assistance, services for gay and lesbian people and services in multiple languages. CHOICE Hotline The CHOICE Hotline helps thousands of callers each year make informed personal decisions about their sexual and reproductive health care needs. CHOICE counselors provide education, counseling and referrals to people who are often in crisis when they call and require immediate, accurate and unbiased health care information. Community AIDS Hotline The Community AIDS Hotline provides up to date information about HIV/AIDS prevention, treatments and resources in the Philadelphia area. GLBT National Hotline We speak with callers of all ages about coming-out issues, relationship concerns, HIV/AIDS anxiety and safer-sex information, and lots more! We also maintain the largest resource database of its kind in the world, with over 18,000 listings. Our database contains information on social and support groups, as well as gay-friendly religious organizations, sports leagues, student groups and more. We also have information on GLBT-friendly businesses including lawyers, doctors and various counseling professionals. GLBT National Youth Talkline Our telephone volunteers are in their teens and early twenties, and we speak with teens and young adults up to age 25 about coming-out issues, relationship concerns, parent issues, school problems, HIV/AIDS anxiety and safer-sex information, and lots more! We also maintain the largest resource database of its kind in the world, with over 18,000 listings. Our database contains information on social and support groups, as well as gay-friendly religious organizations, sports leagues, student groups and more. Hot Tracks Hot Tracks is a telephone hotline for and by gay men of color that provides information, resources, counseling and support to gay men of color to reduce their risk of HIV infection. The hotline provides 1) Information on available resources and events of interest to gay men of color, 2) One-on-one counseling provided by phone health counselors and 3) A weekly support group to be facilitated by phone health counselors. LGBT Peer Counseling Services A peer counseling program offered through the William Way Center that offers one-on-one confidential peer counseling by phone or in person. Whether its coming out, dating, gender identity or any other topic, talk to us. We want to help. Available Monday-Friday from 6-9pm. Call for counseling or to volunteer. Confidential and Free. Menergy A counseling program in Philadelphia for people who have been abusive to their intimate partners. National Domestic Violence Hotline Help is available to callers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Hotline advocates are available for victims and anyone calling on their behalf to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referrals to agencies in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Trevor Project The Trevor Project operates the only nationwide, around-the-clock crisis and suicide prevention helpline for gay and questioning youth. If you or a friend are feeling lost or alone call The Trevor Helpline. Women In Transition Women In Transition (WIT) provides empowerment counseling, referrals and advocacy to women in Philadelphia who are endangered by domestic violence and/or substance abuse. Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR) Provides training and education programs, individual and group support services, court accompaniment, and emergency room support at Thomas Jefferson and Episcopal hospitals. Services available for women, men, and children. |
