The Office of Learning Resources provides professional consultation services in university relevant skills such as academic reading, writing, study strategies, and time management to the Penn community. This academic support is provided through a varied menu of services and program.
APPOINTMENTIndividual instruction is the backbone of the program. Students can make appointments for one-on-one consultations with a Learning Instructor to address concerns and build upon already strong study strategies. Call 57-EXCEL (573-9235) for an appointment.
WALK-INWalk-in hours are available during the academic year in two locations: Noon-3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Weingarten Learning Resources Center (Stouffer Commons - Suite 300) 4-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Weingarten Learning Resources Center (Stouffer Commons - Suite 300) Walk-ins are one half hour and are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
WORKSHOPSInteractive workshops provide group learning opportunities throughout the academic year. Several workshop series have been designed for specific groups of students. Our current series for Spring 2014 are: A Fresh Start Workshop Series (for undergraduates): A+ Academic Plus (for international students).
In Fall 2013 we ran the following workshops: Mastering the Ivy League (for undergraduates); A+ Academics Plus (for International students); Tools, Not Toys: Mobile Apps for Academic Success ( for undergraduate, graduate and professional students). Stay tuned for similar workshop series' coming Fall 2014.
