Ninth Annual Disability Symposium

The Ninth Annual Disability Symposium will be held at the University of Pennsylvania on Friday, April 9, 2010. This year, we invite you to Embrace Current Challenges in the field of postsecondary disabilities with new perspectives, creative ideas and renewed energy. Attend three plenary sessions featuring provocative speakers and choose from eight invited workshops. As in past years, this symposium will provide a forum for exchanging information and experiences with colleagues from many other colleges and universities - over breakfast and lunch, and during the afternoon snack and chat.
Featured speakers this year include:
DR. ANDREW SHATTE, Research Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at The University of Arizona and President of Phoenix Life Academy, a company that specializes in boosting Resilience in public and private sector employees and health-care professionals
DAVID BOIES, Chairman of the law firm of Boies, Schiller and Flexner LLP, author of numerous publications including Courting Justice and Public Control of Business (co-authored with Paul Verkuil), and the recipient of numerous awards.
MANJU BANERJEE, Associate Director of the Center for Students with Disabilities at the University of Connecticut, Associate Research Scholar at the Center for Postsecondary Education and Disability and a faculty member at the University of Connecticut's Center for Continuing Studies
We are pleased that we have been able to keep the registration cost to $50, including all meals, due to the continued generosity of Stephanie (Wharton '86) and Marty Walcoe who have made this symposium possible.
(Registration is waived for all presenters, all students, and participants affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania.)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: APRIL 2, 2010
We look forward to Embracing Challenges with everyone on April 9!
