Scott's area of expertise and research is organizational culture and organzational change, and his doctoral research was titled, "A Comparative Study of Organizational Change and Planning Efforts for Fraternity System Management". Scott is currently involved in a number of research projects involving fraternity/sorority members as wel as the evolution of the Student Affairs professional culture, and the use of intercultural communication theory to improve partnerships between higher education professional subcultures. Outside of the office, Scott enjoys a plethora of outdoor recreational activities (camping, hiking, beaches) as well as landscaping, reading and writing, massage, photography, and travel. Scott is an active volunteer with Lambda Chi Alpha's General Headquarters on new brotherhood initiatives and new program design.
Stacy is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia with a B.A. in political science. She received her M.A. from Buffalo State College and has working in fraternity/sorority affairs at Truman State University, Gannon University, and the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to coming to Penn in 2005, she served as the Director of Chapter Services at Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority. Stacy is an active volunteer within her own sorority, Sigma Kappa, currently serving as a Panhellenic District Coordinator and Collegiate Province Officer. She is also an active volunteer for the Northeast Greek Leadership Association, the National Panhellenic Conference and the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors and serves as a facilitator for CAMPUSPEAK. Outside of the office, Stacy is engaged in sewing, knitting, yoga, and photography.
Larry is the gregarious, boisterous voice you first hear when you enter the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs. Larry has been integral in strengthening the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) and its constituent chapters at Penn. Larry gives excellent seminars on leadership skills and diversity training. Larry provides the spirit that envelopes the office and offers a witty sense of humor that entertains everyone he comes into contact with...so does his dancing and singing ability. Larry is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. (PBS), and he advises the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC). Larry is also actively involved in Theatre in the Philadelphia area.
Anne-Marie is a jack-of-all trades. Working part-time, she handles special events planning, acts as the liaison to the alumni council, supervises the student technology assistants, assists with early move in registration and whatever else gets thrown at her. Originally from Bethesda, MD, she holds a BA from Dickinson College and an MBA from Drexel University. A member of Tri Delta with many years of volunteer experience with the local Tri Delta House Corporation and the local alumnae chapter she has lots of experience working with college students, parents and alumni. When not at Penn, she can be seen on the sidelines of Radnor sports fields cheering for her three kids and working as a freelance personal assistant.
Beth started at OFSA in September, 1987 which makes her the "veteran" of the staff. OFSA has not only moved 3 times since she got here but the staff and resources available to our Greek-letter students has grown to be one of the best in the country. The challenges and rewards and opportunities to work with students, parents, alumni and other administrators have kept her here! She is a Sigma Kappa, Kappa Iota Chapter. She was an alumna initiate in the first class here at the University of Pennsylvania!!!
Her degrees are:
Beth is married, loves to bake, loves dogs and has a dog named "Lady"!!! Her husband Bob and she like to travel, especially going on cruises and they enjoy "cruising" on their motorcycle on weekends! She is a three-time Breast Cancer Survivor and encourage all women to be "active" participants in staying healthy!
Sam is new to the staff and his bio will be up soon!! WELCOME SAM!!!
Don is Associate Director for VPUL Facilities, coordinating facilities operations for general pool classrooms, VPUL Offices and, working with Sam AlShehabi, fraternity and sorority housing.
Pauline is the organizational backbone of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs. Her abilities to coordinate and regulate have made her an essential part of the staff. Pauline makes the office feel more like a family and less like a "department." With that in mind, Pauline is clearly the mother of this family who makes sure Larry doesn't spoil his dinner and that everyone is behaving themselves..... Pauline plays the part of the Italian mother for OFSA and for many of our students. Other little tidbits include facts like Pauline does not like to cook.... and if it's red, it's gravy.
