2008 Penn Health and Wellness Survey
In 2008, the Office of Health Education and Student Health Service launched the Penn Health and Wellness Survey. The survey was developed to meet the specific needs of the University in assessing the Penn student population. The survey is a composition of questions that assess student experiences, behaviors and outcomes related to physical health, mental health, sexual health, nutrition and body image, violence, academics, and alcohol and other drug use. In addition, information is collected regarding the use of and barriers to using University resources. The goal of the survey is to provide data that will guide best practices in meeting the needs of Penn students.
During a two week period in the spring semester, all Penn students are invited to participate in the survey. In 2008, 3025 students responded to the survey (1496 undergraduate; 1529 graduate/professional). The sample was demographically representative of the Penn population.
