Stress Reduction Sessions

Are you feeling stressed out?  OHE offers individualized stress reduction counseling to Penn students who might be feeling a bit overwhelmed by daily pressures, or who are just interested in exploring alternative approaches for coping with stress.   The stress reduction sessions will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your concerns with a caring health counselor.  The counselor will help you to analyze your situation, and then offer you specific recommendations to assist you in feeling more empowered.   You will learn concrete strategies that may include mindful breathing and visualization techniques, brain gymâ, acupressure, and energy exercises.  You will also learn better ways of managing your time and of communicating what you want and need from others.  You and the counselor will develop a personalized plan of action that will identify positive steps that you can take to improve your outlook and feel more relaxed in the midst of stress.  The 60-minute session may also include Reiki, a form of “hands-on” energy work that promotes relaxation.  These confidential sessions are free to Penn students.
