Dear Penn Family:

President Amy GutmannIt is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us on Penn’s campus for Family Weekend 2009. This year’s sampling of intellectual, artistic, cultural, and recreational activities is sure to delight you as you discover the variety of wonderful opportunities available to Penn students.

Family Weekend has something for everyone. Theatre buffs? Visit our vibrant Platt Student Performing Arts House or attend Student Performing Arts Night at Irvine Auditorium. Lifelong students? Join an interdisciplinary discussion with our world-class faculty and learn more about how knowledge integration is helping Penn discover solutions to the world’s greatest problems. Sports fans? Catch the Quakers as they take on opponents in field hockey, football, soccer, and volleyball. Artists and explorers? View the world through fresh lenses at our Arthur Ross Gallery or Institute of Contemporary Art. Encounter ancient Egyptian and Native American culture at our internationally renowned University Museum.

Life on Penn’s campus is vibrant and engaging. Whether this is your first or your umpteenth Family Weekend, I trust that you will find many opportunities to expand your minds, absorb new ideas, and enjoy Penn and all it has to offer. I look forward to greeting you on campus this fall for an exciting weekend of celebration and reunion.

With best wishes,

Amy Gutmann
