June is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where she completed her Ph. D. in Social (Cultural) Psychology. Her research focuses on mental well-being of Asian American populations, particularly Chinese and Filipino Americans. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College, a masters degree in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University and a masters degree in Social Psychology from the University of CA, Davis. June is an animal loving vegetarian and considers herself Californian (although she was born in Conneticut). A second-generation Chinese American, she takes great pride in the successes of her immigrant parents, and her younger brother, Patrick. In addition to serving as PAACH Director, June is a certified personal trainer and group excercise/spinning instructor who teaches at Pottruck Gym on campus.
   
Shiella M. Cervantes

Shiella is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and earned her degree in Cultural Anthropologyas well as a minor in Asian American Studies. She is also a graduate of the Philippine Studies Program, a summer abroad program held at the University of the Philippines, Diliman campus in Manila. DUring her undergraduate career at Penn, she was involved in the Penn Philippine Association, Oracle Senior Society, Penn's bid for the 2005 East Coast Asian American Student Union (ECAASU) Conference, the Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue (FIND), APALI, and a number of other programs. While she was born in Baguio City, Philippines, Shiella has lived in Philadelphia since she was four years old and is the eldest of five sisters. Her favorite food is chocolate and her favorite pastime is taking embarrassing pictures of her friends. As a PAACH alum, Shiella is excited to be back at the center and is looking forward to working with the current and incoming students!
   
Kusum Soin

Kusum was born in India and is the oldest child in her family. She graduated from a three-year architecture college in 1972 and then worked as an interior designer and architectural assistant for fifteen years. From 1980 to 1990 she lived in Kuwait and then came to the United States with her husband and two daughters. Her husband, Devinder S. Soin, is a landscape architect. They experienced life during the Iraq-Kuwait War in the early 90s. Her family moved to the United States because her husband decided to go to graduate school at Penn after pondering over the decision for 18 years. He completed his Master's degree in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. Kusum's eldest daughter, Komal Soin is a third year medical student at Jefferson. Her younger daughter, Katki Soin, is a first year medical student at Jefferson. Her son Gaugin Soin is in high school at Masterman. Kusum enjoys cooking exotic good. She also likes to watch Hindi movies and make jewelry in her spare time. Kusum's entire family loves to travel. They have visited over fifteen countries. One day they would like to add China and Australia to their list.
