George Tiller, one of exceedingly few late-term abortion providers in the United States, was murdered while serving as an usher at his church on Sunday. Dr. Tiller and his practice have been the targets of extremists for years; he was shot in both arms on one occasion and his clinic was bombed on another. With Dr. Tiller's death, there appear to be at most two late-term abortion providers remaining in the United States. Late-term abortion providers mainly offer abortions to those who have discovered that their fetus will not survive long after birth, who have medical complications endangering the mother's health or who are victims of pedophilic abuse.
