Patients who want to be seen at Student Health can make appointments for both acute problems (those that come up on short notice, for example a sprained ankle) or to discuss chronic medical issues (ongoing fatigue for example).
Typically our appointments are 15 minutes long. For appointments like a complete physical exam, an eating disorders evaluation, or a travel consultation you will be asked to make a 30 minute appointment.
Examples of typical acute care issues that we see at SHS include (but are not limited to):
- Cold or flu symptoms
- Muscle or joint problems
- Allergic reactions
- Dermatological issues (rashes etc)
- Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)
We have several different kinds of providers available including doctors, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, and nurses. When an appointment is not readily available (ie that same day) a nurse may see a patient to provide some medical care so the patient can then wait for a longer medical evaluation.
If you have an issue that you want medically evaluated at SHS you can call our main number at 215.746.3535 or click on Schedule an Appointment for the link to do so on-line.
