HIV testing at Student Health

We are happy to offer *free* confidential rapid fingerstick testing with our Health Counselor Erin Taylor. The entire visit, including getting results, takes about 30 minutes. You can schedule this appointment on-line by clicking here or by calling 215.746.3535.

Students can also choose to have HIV testing done at a Primary Care, Men's Health or Women's Health appointment. The non-rapid blood test is a blood draw performed by the Hospital laboratory and is neither anonymous nor free.  Results are available in about one week.

In addition, statues governing medical records dictate that pre- and post-test visits are part of a student’s medical record. Primary care can order confidential HIV tests through HUP as part of an evaluation for a medical illness or occupational exposure.

The following list provides information on a number of sites in Philadelphia that provide free and/or anonymous testing.
