It hurts when I pee

Pain and burning with peeing (urination) associated with frequency and urgency are usually symptoms of a urinary tract infection (UTI). Urinary tract infections occur when bacteria infect the urethra, the bladder, and possibly the ureters and kidneys. UTIs can be very annoying and painful if left untreated.

Women's Health does not routinely treat patients with a UTI. Women with these symptoms are generally seen by a provider in the Primary Care section of Student Health who will assess, diagnosis, and treat a UTI. For an appointment with Primary Care, please call (215) 746.3535.
