Note: the $226 per term Clinical Fee charge will be reversed for students who are enrolled in PSIP. The coverage period dates will be the same as last year, August 15, 2012-August 14, 2013. The enrollment/waiver site will open on July 1, 2012 at http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/shs/inreq.php . The summer supplemental insurance for incoming graduate student will be:
Coverage for summer 2012
Graduate students starting University programs in July or August 2012 may enroll in the 2012 summer plan at a prorated premium. Please contact the Insurance Office at 215 746 3535 option #3 or email to shsinsur@pobox.upenn.edu for more information or to obtain an application.
Please make sure that you update your local address in Penn in Touch as this is where your insurance card will be mailed.
The rates and coverage periods are:
July 1, 2012 - August 14, 2012 (premium: $437)
August 1, 2012 – August 14, 2012 (premium: $187)
Note: If you are in a program that is paying for your insurance, please check with your school to make certain they will cover the entire amount.
Enrollment of Dependents
Covered students may enroll their lawful spouse/domestic partner and unmarried dependent children under age 26 who reside with, and are fully supported by, the covered student for the same coverage. Students may enroll their eligible dependents when the student enrolls. Covered students may enroll their eligible dependents by the specified deadline(s) by visiting www.aetnastudenthealth.com.

Contact Aetna at (800) 841-5374 with any questions regarding dependent enrollment. Dependent premiums may be paid in full or in monthly installments. Please visit www.aetnastudenthealth.com. Please note that the deadline for enrolling dependents without a Qualifying life Event is August 31, 2011.

The Aetna Dental PPO Plan as an option for students to purchase on a voluntary basis. Students do not need to be enrolled in the Student Sickness and Accident plan in order to enroll.

Vital Savings by Aetna®:
The Vital Savings Discount program as an option for students to purchase on a voluntary basis. Students do not need to be enrolled in the Student Sickness and Accident plan in order to enroll.
This program can be purchased through May 31, 2011 (this fee remains the same no matter when the program is purchased).
