PSIP Premium Rates for 2008-2009
Note: the $210 per term Clinical Fee charge will be reversed for student who are enrolled the PSIP.
Coverage for summer 2009:
Graduate students starting University programs in July or August 2009 may enroll in the 2009 summer plan at a prorated premium. Please contact Deborah Olson at OlsonD3@aetna.com for more information or to obtain an application.Please make sure that you update your local address in Penn in Touch as this is where your insurance card will be mailed. Note: If you are in a program that is paying for your insurance, please check with your school to make certain they will cover the entire amount.
Supplementary summer extensions for incoming graduate students:
July 1, 2009 - August 14, 2009 (premium: $341)
August 1, 2009 – August 14, 2009 (premium: $115)
The deadline for enrollment or cancelling supplementary summer extension is August 1, 2009
Enrollment of Dependents
Covered students may enroll their lawful spouse/domestic partner and unmarried dependent children under age 19 who reside with, and are fully supported by, the covered student for the same coverage. Students may enroll their eligible dependents when the student enrolls. Covered students may enroll their eligible dependents by the specified deadline(s) by visiting www.aetnastudenthealth.com.
Dependent enrollment is processed online at www.aetnastudenthealth.com, click on “Find Your School”(remove: and enter 724535 as the Policy Number). Contact Aetna at (800) 841-5374 with any questions regarding dependent enrollment. Dependent premiums may be paid in full or as two installments. Please visit www.aetnastudenthealth.com.

AdvantageTM Dental* - Insured Dental Plan: The University of Pennsylvania will offer Advantage Dental plan as an option for students to purchase on a voluntary basis. Students do not need to be enrolled in the Student Sickness and Accident plan in order to enroll
The availability of the Aetna Advantage Dental plan will be included in the pamphlet that is mailed to students, and will be included on the Aetna Student Health/ University of Pennsylvania web page. This plan can be purchased only during the open enrollment period of the Penn Student Insurance Plan (PSIP).
The cost to enroll in the Annual Aetna Advantage Dental plan is as follows:
Student: $205
Student + 1 Dependent: $402
Student + 2 or more Dependents: $768

Vital Savings by Aetna®: The University of Pennsylvania will offer the Vital Savings Discount program as an option for students to purchase on a voluntary basis. Students do not need to be enrolled in the Penn Student Insurance Plan (PSIP) in order to enroll.
The availability of the Vital Savings Discount plan will be included in the pamphlet that is mailed to students, and will be included on the Aetna Student Health/ University of Pennsylvania web page. This program can be purchased through May 31, 2010 (this fee remains the same no matter when the program is purchased).
The cost to enroll in the Vital Savings Discount program is as follows:

Student + 1 Dependent: $44
Student + 2 or more Dependents: $63
The Vital Savings by Aetna® program (the “Program”) is not insurance. The Program provides Members with access to discounted fees pursuant to schedules negotiated by Aetna Life Insurance Company for the Vital Savings by Aetna® discount program. The Program does not make payments directly to the providers participating in the Program. Each Member is obligated to pay for all services or products but will receive a discount from the providers who have contracted with the Discount Medical Plan Organization to participate in the Program. Aetna Life Insurance Company, 151 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT 06156, 1-877-698-4825, is the Discount Medical Plan Organization.
