| VPUL has many services within the Division that are managed by VPULTS. These servers provide data storage and sharing, electronic calendaring, database, patch management, and anti-virus technologies for all offices within the Division of University Life. The servers are protected from users outside of PennNet via Firewall software. Access to the servers are limited to those given access via a VPUL domain and/or REALM login (see accounts). All data stored on the servers is backed up remotely by an outside vendor and kept off-site on a daily basis.

VPUL Technology Services contracts with ISC to manage the VPUL web server. All VPUL web sites are located on http://www.vpul.upenn.edu. We work with offices on developing processes for the web. The integration of databases within Web technologies is an area that we are just beginning to branch into; however, we see it as a priority. In addition, we collaborate with stakeholders across the university to ensure that VPUL projects are developed, modified and maintained within a broad vision of service that is supportive of institutional initiatives.
