Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

MBCT is specifically designed to help people who suffer repeated episodes of depression and chronic unhappiness.  It is offered in a group setting and combines principles of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness.  Participants become acquainted with the modes of mind that often characterize mood disorders while simultaneously learning to develop a new relationship to them.

Duration: Eight weeks (plus a mandatory orientation session) program with a Day of Mindfulness on Saturday, October 20th, after week 6 of the program.

Orientation: Tuesday, September 4th, 4:30-6:45 pm

Meeting Dates: Tuesdays, starting September 11th through October 30th, including a Day of Mindfulness on Saturday, October 20th. 

Location: CAPS, 3624 Market Street, 1st Floor 

You must be able to commit to ALL the sessions and the day of mindfulness.  You cannot continue with the group if you do not attend the orientation and the first session.

Print and complete the Participant Information Form, the Participation Agreement Form, and the MBCT Acknowledgemant and Waiver Form, and bring them (or fax them to 215-573-8966) to CAPS no later than Friday, August 31st.  DO NOT EMAIL THEM AS THEY CONTAIN YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
