Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
MBCT is specifically designed to help people who suffer repeated episodes of depression and chronic unhappiness. It is offered in a group setting and combines principles of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness. Participants become acquainted with the modes of mind that often characterize mood disorders while simultaneously learning to develop a new relationship to them.
Duration: Eight week (plus a mandatory orientation session) program with a Day of Mindfulness on at Saturday, after week 6 of the program.
Orientation: Tuesday, September 26th, 4:45-6:45 pm.
Meeting Dates: Tuesdays, starting September 26th and ending November 21st.
Location: CAPS, Community Rooms A-C.
You must be able to commit to ALL the sessions and the day of mindfulness. You cannot continue with the group if you do not attend the orientation and the first session.
