The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1827. PHS operates the nation's most comprehensive community greening program. Working in partnership with neighborhood residents, community organizations and city agencies, PHS uses greening as a community building tool. Over the last 15 years, this nationwide practice aims to be an active, experimental atelier seeking a liaison between emerging ideas and practices and the concrete need for their realization in physical space.
