MD-PhD dual-degree programs are intended for students with a passion for research who wish to work as physician-scientists within the field of medicine. Following approximately eight years of training, student may go on to medical school faculty positions, while others choose to work in industry or as full-time researchers at institutions such as the NIH or the Wistar Institute.
