Appointments & Walk-In Advising

*Please Note* You must be a full-time, degree seeking student or alumni in order to use our services.
Guest students are not eligible to use Career Services.

To schedule a 30-minute career advising appointment login into Handshake and select the "Career Center" option at the top of your home screen - then select "Appointments" and "Schedule a New Appointment". Please note, we only book one week in advanced so if you do not see any availability, please check back in the system the following Monday. If you are having difficulty scheduling in Handshake you can always call the office at 215-898-7529. All of our bios can be found by visiting our staff directory.

Interested in law school, medical/dental/veterinary school, or graduate school? Call 215-898-1789 to set up an appointment with our pre-graduate/pre-professional advisors.

Walk-in advising hours are held daily on a first come first serve basis. Walk-in appointments are 15 minutes in length and are intended to answer quick questions only. Any other questions should be answered in a 30 minute, pre-scheduled appointment - call 215-898-7529 in order to schedule an appointment.

College Resume Critiques

If you'd like a resume or cover letter critique, we welcome you to drop off printed documents in our office to Alyssa Perkins at the CAS desk. You may also submit documents by emailing alperk@upenn.edu and putting "Resume Review Request" in the subject line. Please allow up to one week for your review to be completed by an advisor. You may submit the same document for review no more than two times in one month.

If you are requesting a review for grad school applications, please call 215-898-1789 to inquire about the process for resume submissions for that team.

Please Note: This form of resume submission is only open to College of Arts & Sciences degree seeking Undergraduate Students and Alumni. Please visit your school's section on this page for information about their resume critique services.

Engineering Counseling Appointments & Walk-ins

Advisors are available to discuss concerns regarding career planning and job searching through half-hour appointments or on a walk-in basis. Walk-in advising blocks are 10-15 minutes long and are on a first-come, first-served basis.  Sign-ups for walk-ins begin no earlier than 15 minutes before the start of the walk-in period.  Walk-in sessions are in our offices in Suite 20 in the basement of the McNeil Building.

Engineering Resume CritiquesIf you would like to have your resume critiqued by a career advisor, submit any documents for review specifically to the Engineering Team at Career Services by dropping off printed documents in our office when classes are in session. Emailed resumes will only be accepted for alumni, and students who are abroad. If by email, please be sure that the documents sent are in Word (no PDFs) and that you put "Resume Review Request" in the subject line. Please allow up to three to five business (working) days for your review to be completed.

You will receive feedback within approximately one week depending on the volume of previously submitted requests.
