"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world." --Margaret Mead

Penn Civic Scholars is a unique program providing undergraduates with a sustained four-year experience in civic engagement and scholarship.  The program culminates in certification upon graduation and designation as a Civic Scholar on the student's transcript.  The Penn Civic Scholars Program admitted its first cohort in the fall of 2007 and will graduate its fifth cohort this spring.  Learn how it all began in the Summer 2011 feature on the Civic Scholars Program in the Pennsylvania Gazette, "Getting Engaged."
