From the Northeast via the New Jersey Turnpike South

Use Exit 4. Bear right out of the toll following signs for NJ-73 N and merge onto NJ-73 N. Slight left onto NJ-90 W (signs for Betsy Ross Bridge). Keep left at the fork, follow signs for I-95 S/Central Phila and merge onto I-95 S. Take exit 22 toward I-676 W/US-30. Merge onto Vine St Expy. Continue onto I-676 N. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for I-76 E/International Airport and merge onto I-76 E. Take exit 346A on the left for South St. Turn right onto South St. South St turns slightly left and becomes Spruce St. Go one block and Irvine Auditorium followed by Houston Hall is on the right.

From the North via I-95 South

Take exit 22 toward I-676 W/US-30. Merge onto the Vine Street Expressway. Continue onto I-676 N. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for I-76 E/International Airport and merge onto I-76 E. Take exit 346A on the left for South St. Turn right onto South St. South St turns slightly left and becomes Spruce St. Go one block and Irvine Auditorium followed by Houston Hall is on the right.

From the West via the Pennsylvania Turnpike

On the PA turnpike, take exit 326 to merge onto I-76 E towards Philadelphia. Follow signs for I-76 E. Take exit 346A on the left for South Street. At the top of the ramp, turn right onto South Street. South Street becomes Spruce Street. Go one block and Irvine Auditorium followed by Houston Hall is on the right.

From the South via I-95 North

While on I-95 N, take exit 13 to merge onto PA-291 E toward I-76 W/Valley Forge. Turn left onto S 26th St. Take the ramp onto I-76 W. Take exit 346A on the left for South Street. Turn left onto South St. South St turns slightly left and becomes Spruce St. Go one block and Irvine Auditorium followed by Houston Hall is on the right.

From the Airport

The Philadelphia International Airport is located in the Southwest section of the city, approximately twenty minutes from the University of Pennsylvania campus. Visitors driving from the airport should take I-95 North. Please follow directions under "From South via I-95 North" above. Convenient train service from the airport to 30th Street Station is available through SEPTA's Airport Express Train which leaves every half-hour. The fares are as follows:

$7.00 (on-board fare) weekdays for travel 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

$6.00 (on-board fare) evenings after 7:00 p.m., weekends and major holidays

$3.00 additional on-board fare for travel to any SEPTA Regional Rail station beyond Center City weekdays, evenings and weekends

The trip takes approximately twenty-five minutes. The University City Station is about a five minute walk west on Spruce Street to our campus. The 30th Street Station is about a fifteen-minute walk or $5 cab ride to campus. A metered cab ride from the airport to campus generally costs $20, including the tip, and takes approximately 20 minutes. The Penn Tower Hotel, located adjacent to the Penn Campus on 34th Street at Civic Center Boulevard, runs an airport shuttle that leaves from the baggage claim area every half hour. The ride is $8 (subject to change) and takes approximately twenty minutes. The Lady Liberty Shuttle Service (215-724-8888) provides van rides between the airport and any location within Center City or University City at $10 per person.

From 30th Street Station

The campus can be reached from 30th Street Station by cab, on SEPTA's Green Line (to either 36th and Sansom Streets or 37th and Spruce Streets) or the Market-Frankford Line (to 34th and Market Streets), or by foot; 30th Street Station is a fifteen-minute walk from the heart of campus.

Train and Bus Service

Intercity rail service to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station is provided by Amtrak. Frequent service is offered to Northeastern cities including Boston, New York, Baltimore, and Washington. Intercity bus service is provided by Greyhound and Trailway bus lines from the terminal at 1001 Filbert Street, behind The Gallery shopping center. The Penn campus can be reached from the bus station on SEPTA's Green Line (to either 36th and Sansom Streets or 37th and Spruce Streets) or Market-Frankford Line (to 34th and Market Streets).
