James Macon Grant, Program Coordinator
James Grant is excited to join the Platt House team and hit the ground running in an already busy semester! James has a deep love for storytelling, learned during his conservatory-style training at the University of Wisconsin while obtaining his Acting MFA. The roles that have stuck with him the most are Cholly from Lydia Diamond's "The Bluest Eye" and Eugene in Dael Orlandersmith's "Yellowman". James has recently been able to utilize his performance and nonprofit managerial training directing "Stick Fly" at Texas Tech University and serving as the Associate Director of Technology for the Voice and Speech Trainer's Association's (VASTA) 2016 annual conference. Once arriving in Philadelphia, he became a fellow at The Media Mobilizing Project to learn and hone skills in documentary and message-driven storytelling. He's also an avid gamer, tech enthusiast, and burgeoning sound designer. Please drop by his office and say hi, share a story, or talk shop!
