This event will feature a panel of involved alumni who will share their personal experiences of giving back and building community at the University and beyond. A networking session following the discussion will offer an opportunity for students to connect with alumni leaders like you. Our panel will be moderated by two student moderators, and we will provide suggested questions for all panelists ahead of time. Light bites and refreshments provided!

yPINKS (https://pinks.or.kr/) is one of the most important queer feminist activist groups in South Korea since the early 2000s, composed of filmmakers who have made numerous award-winning documentaries on gender and sexual minorities, sex workers, labor activists, Sewol ferry victims, among others. This workshop will provide practical approaches to trans-affirming pedagogy in language classrooms. We will discuss specific strategies for creating and modifying course materials that rely on gendered terms across languages. Participants are encouraged to bring and share trans-inclusive teaching strategies and course materials that have worked well for them in previous classroom settings. Open to all language faculty, lecturers, graduate students and other instructors.
