Solidarity not Appropriation, Full-Metal Indigequeer
Joshua Whitehead, an Oji-Cree, Two-Spirit storyteller and academic from Peguis First Nation on Treaty 1 territory in Manitoba and author of full-metal indigiqueer and Jonny Appleseed (Instagram @jwhitehead204) along with Demian DinéYazhiâ a transdisciplinary Indigenous Diné Nádleehà artist, poet, and curator (Instagram @heterogeneoushomosexual) are coming to Penn for a two-day residency during the Martin Luther King Jr Symposium on Social Change, January 29th-30th, 2020. This residency, titled âSolidarity NOT Appropriation/Full-Metal IndigiQueer,â will include classroom lectures, conversations in VPUL centers, and literary events at both the Kelly Writers House and the LGBT Center. The residency will culminate in a community-wide event at the Levy Conference Room at Penn Law on January 30, 2020, at 7 PM. Joshua Whitehead and Demian DinéYazhiâ will engage in a conversation moderated by Tailinh Agoyo, Direct of We Are the Seeds of CultureTrust Philadelphia.
