The University of Pennsylvania is alive with arts and culture! From world class performances, exhibits, and museums to exciting course work, internships, and student groups, Penn has something to feed anyone's cultural appetite!

Academic Offerings:

Whether you're interested in taking one or two classes ala carte, minoring, or majoring… Penn's academic arts offerings are wide and varying. Here's a taste of Penn's art and culture academic departments and programs: Anthropology, Architecture, Cinema Studies, Creative Writing, Digital Media Design, Fine Arts, History of Art, Music, Theatre Arts, and Visual Studies.

Want to have front row seats to world class performances? A work-study job or internship at an arts and culture organization? Check out Annenberg Center Live, Arthur Ross Gallery, Institute of Contemporary Art, Kelly Writers House, Morris Arboretum, Penn Humanities Forum, Penn Libraries, Penn Museum, Platt Student Performing Arts House, and/or WXPN.

Student Organizations:

Performing Arts Council (PAC) offers you the opportunity to participate in more than 45 different student-run performance organizations. From dance to spoken word, jazz to stand-up comedy, theatre, a cappella and more: if you have interest, we have an outlet! The Performing Arts Council is one of the most diverse and exciting communities at Penn. With more than 80 performances a year, Penn is the perfect place to discover or fine tune your writing, directing, design, choreography, technical and of course, performance skills! PAC is organized into four subcommittees: A Cappella, Dance, Singers, Musicians, and Comedians (which also includes spoken word), and Theatre. PAC and its advisory office, Platt Student Performing Arts House, offer training workshops and master classes throughout the year, civic engagement in the arts, career training, a summer theatre internship scholarship, as well as resources about the arts in Philadelphia. Visual arts organizations to note include Penn Art Club and Women in Art Initiative.
