Kayvon Asemani |
Hometown: Baltimore, MD Major: Economics Civic engagement interests: I am most passionate about addressing systemic education inequality both domestically and globally. This interest comes from my own personal experiences with exposure to many different levels of education, as a student, teacher, and counselor. I believe that knowledge and skills are essential for progress and fulfillment, and every human being should have access to the specific form of education that will allow them to attain that knowledge and develop those skills. How do you hope to impact the world?: I hope that my initiatives help us get one step closer to achieving educational equality in this country and on the planet, period. At the same time, I hope to address other social issues that have relevant intersectionalities with education inequality. To do that, I want to help provide profitable solutions so that these initiatives are economically sustainable. |

Hometown: Seoul, South Korea Major: Philosphy, Politics, Economics; Nonprofit Leadership Civic engagement interests: Particularly, working in impact investing and social entrepreneurship allowed me to visualize how both impact and development could be achieved on a greater scale outside of the nonprofit and activism space. I am particularly interested in how corporations can create a culture that promotes wellness and social impact in the workplace through organizational structure and design. How do you hope to impact the world? I hope to impact the world by providing access to opportunity to those who lack the necessary resources and tools to do good. I believe in the power of human potential and hope to help those around me unlock their potential. I hope to do this through influencing others to take action and changing the norm in fields that often lack emphasis on social impact, such as finance and management. |
